Whipseey and the Lost Atlas, the whipping retro platformer from developer Daniel A. Ramirez and publisher Blowfish Studios, is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for Windows PC.
The adventure begins when young Alex’s curiosity lands him in a literal world of trouble, whisking him away to a vibrant land where he is transformed into Whipseey. Armed with a trusty whip and imbued with newfound powers, he joins forces with a local princess to recover magic orbs capable of restoring order to this extraordinary world and safely send him home.
Drawing inspiration from beloved platformers, Whipseey and the Lost Atlas provides a challenging yet rewarding retro experience. Whipseey’s journey follows the lovable pink hero leaping, whipping, and hovering through hand-crafted levels teeming with adorable enemies and dangerous hazards. With the crack of his whip, Whipseey latches onto swing points and hovers in the air, enabling dramatic and dynamic travel across the magical world of Whipseeyland.
Whipseeyland is brought to life with art from Luftrausers artist Roy Nathan De Groot and an upbeat original soundtrack that evokes treasured memories from a bygone era of gaming.
“Releasing Whipseey is a dream come true,” said developer Daniel Ramirez. “It’s been an amazing ride creating a platformer that harkens back to the classics we grew up spending countless hours playing, and if you enjoy my retro platformer half as much as I did developing it, I know you are in for a treat.”
Whipseey and the Lost Atlas is available today on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam for Windows PC for $5.99 USD / €5.99 / £4.99 / $7.99 AUD. Support for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese language options are coming in a post-launch update.
