Twitch’s ANZ First Ever BitFest Officially Kicks Off – 10 Days Of Specialty Streams/Challengers/Giveaways Supporting Your Favourite Creators

The first-ever ANZ BitFest has officially kicked off—an event designed to boost the incremental revenue of participating streamers ahead of the end of the financial year.

Over the next 10-days, 70+ local creators including fan favourites LoserfruitPestily and broxh_, will be rallying their communities to help them reach Bits tier goals and win prizes like Twitch Merch, vouchers worth up to $500, a Nintendo Switch, and even a limited edition We Are Robots Twitch controller.

Many creators have already announced they’ll be putting on speciality streams and completing challenges up until June 30, to encourage their communities to cheer them on and purchase Bits. Some are even incentivising their communities to get involved by running their own giveaways or donating Bits revenue to charity.

iamfallfromgrace will be donating all revenue from the event to Equality Australia to support the LGBTQIA+ community—perfect timing given its global Pride Month.  LilTrouble__ plans to use her prizes as giveaways for her community during an upcoming fundraiser for the Starlight Children’s Foundation this August.

What are Bits you ask? Bits are a virtual currency Twitch viewers can buy and use to Cheer—another way to support creators, similar to subscribing. A Cheer is a chat message sent by viewers that uses Bits, and includes animated emotes to amplify their voice in chat, celebrate the moment, and often get recognised by streamers while live.
