Today ESL FACEIT Group and Guinevere Capital welcomed the start of a new Split of Oceania’s premier League of Legends esports competition, the League of Legends Circuit Oceania (‘LCO’). Returning for its fourth year, Split 1 of the LCO in 2024 boasts three new teams competing for the title of Oceania’s best – Fury, ION Global Esports, and Antic Esports.
“This Split, we’re excited to welcome in three new teams to the league, and look forward to the new rivalries that will undoubtedly form.” said Tim Wendel, Product Manager of the LCO at ESL FACEIT Group. “We’re also looking forward to seeing some new and returning faces, including players that have played or coached in the LCS – names like Swip3rR, k1ng, and Haeri. They’ll take to the Rift against local favourites including Whynot and BioPanther for what’s set to be a very competitive Split.”
Format:
Split 1 of the LCO in 2024 continues the popular Best-of-2 single round robin format that debuted in Split 2, 2023. A 6-team playoffs will follow starting on February 26th, with the top two LCO teams traveling overseas to compete in an expanded PCS Playoffs whilst representing Oceania. One change to prizepool this Split sees the $30,000USD prize pool spread out over the top 6 teams (instead of 3 in prior years).

A mix of returning and new talent will appear on the live LCO broadcast this Split, including Skimmy, NatTea, and Maximize, who will be joined across the season by a number of special guests yet to be announced.

LCO matches will take place every Monday and Tuesday throughout the regular season, starting from 6pm AEDT (8pm NZDT, 3pm AWST). The following matches will take place on week 1:
