Glitch Productions has today announced the regular season premiere of their latest series, Murder Drones. On November 18, 2022, Murder Drones’ eight-episode season run will begin, with all installments airing on the Glitch Productions YouTube channel.
After the success of Glitch Production’s previous series Meta Runner (2019-2022), which saw over 20 million views, Murder Drones is the studio’s move into darker, more mature storytelling territory. Written, directed, and produced by Liam Vickers, the creator of viral sensation ‘Cliffside’, the new show is a heartwarming story of “destroy all humans”. Uzi, a sardonic teen helper robot gone rogue befriends N, an excitable optimistic Murder Drone sent to disassemble her, in what we can assume is a very bad relationship for mankind.
The series pilot, available to view now on YouTube, received 1 million views in the first day, and has now received over 10 million views ahead of the full series airing and becoming Glitch Production’s fastest-growing pilot yet. To bring the series to life, the studio has recruited the recognisable voices of Elsie Lovelock as Uzi (Evelyn, Meta Runner), Michael Kovach as N (Angeldust, Hazbin Hotel), Nola Klop as V (Poppy, Poppy Playtime), and Sean Chiplock as Thad (Revali, Breath of the Wild).
“Murder Drones has turned the heads of the entire global animation industry and has really shown what Australian artists are capable of,” said Kevin Lerdwichagul, CEO of Glitch Productions. “I’m super excited for the launch of the season as it brings with it a huge step forward for GLITCH in the entertainment business.”
“I’m just so happy with how the show has turned out!” said Liam Vickers, Murder Drones Showrunner and Director. “The Glitch team has done an AWESOME job and I can’t wait till the fans check it out. It’s gonna be SpoOoooOky (and funny!)”
The 3D animated comedy horror series is created entirely in Unreal Engine by the local Glitch Productions team from their studio in Sydney, produced and funded independently.
The Murder Drones season will premiere on November 18th 2022.
