Today, Ubisoft Australia, in partnership with ESL Australia, announced the Oceanic Nationals will officially commence on September 16, 2020, beginning stage two of the 2020 season and will run in an online format. The Oceanic Nationals is the premier Rainbow Six Siege tournament of the Oceanic region.
The Oceanic Nationals will see the eight best teams in the Oceanic region compete in a round robin format across seven playdays, in a Bo1 match with overtime. At the end of the playdays, the top six teams will move onto three days of double-elimination playoffs.
The teams competing to be crowned the Oceanic Nationals champion are:
- Wildcard
- OkamiLFO
- Pittsburgh Knights
- Melon Cat
- LFO
- Team Ferox
- Elevate
- Kanga Esports
The Oceanic Nationals will run every Wednesday and Friday evening from 7:00PM AEST, with the playoffs taking place from October 16 – 18. The full schedule of playdays is available below:
- Playday #1 – Wednesday, September 16
- Playday #2 – Friday, September 18
- Playday #3 – Wednesday, September 23
- Playday #4 – Friday, September 25
- Playday #5 – Wednesday, September 30
- Playday #6 – Friday, October 2
- Playday #7 – Wednesday, October 7
- Playoffs – Friday, October 16 – Sunday, October 18
For the Oceanic Nationals, Ubisoft Australia is partnering with mental health awareness organisation, LIVIN, to help fight the stigma of mental health issues. Ubisoft will be raising awareness for LIVIN by integrating messaging into the entire broadcast of the season.
