PlayStation Australia has confirmed that Guerilla Games’ upcoming title, Horizon Forbidden West, will launch on February 18, 2022, exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Guerilla Games also announced that an Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Forbidden Dawn is now live for PlayStation 5 players.
Mathijs de Jonge, Game Director of Guerilla Games, confirmed the release date overnight, saying:
“While the decision to move the game’s launch to 2022 certainly wasn’t easy, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our fans for their unwavering support; we know how much you’ve been looking forward to reuniting with Aloy and her friends, continuing her story, and exploring a new and more dangerous world. Your passion, fan art, cosplay, virtual photography, and videos have meant the world to all of us.”
Guerilla Games also announced that in response to player demand they have launched a free Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn on PlayStation 5, letting PlayStation 5 players enjoy up to 60 FPS. Players with the game will have the patch automatically updated, and first timers to Horizon can find it via the Horizon Zero Dawn product page or on our social channels.
Horizon Forbidden West will be available to preorder from Thursday, 2 September, so keep an eye on the PlayStation Blog next week for further information.
