The South Australian-based independent studio are pleased to announced their debut title Rooftop Renegade is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in Q1 2023.

Just after being awarded as a PAX Aus 2022 Indie Showcase winner amongst five other talented developers, Melonhead Games are also pleased to confirm that they will be showcasing Rooftop Renegade at PAX Aus on October 7-9, encouraging press to go hands-on with the game and chat with them on the show floor.

Rooftop Renegade began its development in 2018 at a Global Game Jam and since then, the team has been hard at work bringing their initial vision to life.

Since then, Rooftop Renegade has been garnered plenty of praise and awards, including the South Australian Film Corporation Games Innovation Fund in 2019, an Epic Games MegaGrant and a ‘Best In Show for Sound Design’ nomination at the GDEX Midwest Gaming Expo in 2020.

ROOFTOP RENEGADE puts you in the Chrono-Kicks of Svetlana, a hoverblading outlaw on the run from the evil Globacorp. With the ability to portal through time, Svetlana sets out to brave Globacorp’s attack squad as she steals as many scattered time crystals as possible.

BOOST, GRIND and WARP through challenge levels to test your mettle and feel like the ultimate speedrunner.

With an accessible way to understand the satisfying feeling of being in the zone, you’ll blast through levels at high speeds while chaining together abilities while making split-second pathway decisions.

ROOFTOP RENEGADE walks the line between pixel-perfect platforming and momentum-driven racing, resulting in smooth controls to easily get into a rhythm. This is all supported by dynamic music that picks up as you gain momentum.

The chaotic local-multiplayer allows friends and family to come together to play as the gunners bent-on disrupting Svetlana’s escape route.

Featuring distinct locations riddled with dangerous hazards and unique pathways, you’ll be able to attempt levels with multiple approaches. And with many different stat-boosting chrono-kicks to choose from, there’s plenty of ways to get your kicks!
