GCAP 2024 Takes Place From 7-9 October 2024 As Part Of Melbourne International Games Week

Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2024 will take place in Melbourne from 7- 9 October 2024, as part of the prestigious Melbourne International Games Week, a week dedicated to celebrating all things games, including the development industry and tens of thousands of players who enjoy playing.

The video games sector is dynamic, vibrant, and ever-changing. Like many high-tech and creative businesses, 2024 will likely present challenges for game creators. However, amidst these challenges, a sense of cautious optimism remains. With consistent disruption likely to remain constant throughout the year, GCAP 2024 will again be an essential games conference, delivering strategies and opportunities for creators and studios to adapt and thrive in these turbulent times.

GCAP 2024 will foster connections with industry professionals to create opportunities for business development. The conference will inspire attendees with education and upskilling programs focusing on game development’s core disciplines. With numerous formal and informal networking opportunities, GCAP 2024 will provide many opportunities to create and grow a sustainable business.

This year GCAP will offer:

  • Learning Opportunities: Practical sessions cater to developers of all sizes. Whether you’re an individual or part of a team, GCAP offers applicable skills to achieve your vision.
  • Cutting-Edge Tools: Stay ahead with insights into the latest techniques and tools for game creation and distribution.
  • Expertise Sharing: Industry veterans from Australia and beyond share their wisdom. Best practices across all disciplines will empower developers.
  • Networking: Formal and informal programs to connect with peers and the many stakeholders across the games industry

They are looking for speakers, with submissions open now. Learn more here.

To wrap up GCAP, IGEA will celebrate the incredibly talented Australian game developers and the brilliant games they create at the 2024 Australian Game Developer Awards (the AGDAs) on Wednesday 9 October 2024. More details will be revealed soon.

GCAP and the AGDAs would not be possible without the generous support of our industry partners. If you would like to support the Australian games industry, please reach out to our Director of Industry Development, Ceri Hutton, to discuss sponsorship opportunities available.

Keep an eye on the GCAP website as more information becomes available and stay in the loop by signing up to our GCAP newsletter (details on the website).
