Final Fantasy XIV: Hidden Mounts & Minions

While Final Fantasy XIV is a massive game and with the amount of items you can obtain can fall through the cracks on how to obtain them, I will be doing a short list of some minions and mounts worth grabbing that are earned in the game so not part of the MOG station for physical purchase.

Starting off with the mounts the Magicked Bed is a flying bed mount, so you can be all snug and cozy while flying around. To earn this mount players must be level 80 as a carpenter and have the Master Carpenter VII unlocked.

To craft it players will need to have on hand 3 Enchanted Elm Lumber, 4 Undyed Velveteen, and 4 clouds breath out of these materials only the Undyed Velveteens can be bought from the Sylphic Vendor in the East Shroud.

The Unicorn mount is one that is rather easy to unlock and is a quest reward for a level 30 Conjurer class, not an advanced job such as White Mages will be able to partake in the quest.

Players that want to earn this Unicorn mount will need to head to Old Gridania and seek out the NPC Braya the quest is called “Unicorn Power”. Upon finishing the quest the player will be rewarded a Unicorn Whistle which is used to summon the newly earned mount.

Now for some minions that need more love and to get unlocked and shown off starting off just like the magical bed this minion is a carpenter unlock which is a Magical Broom that will follow you around and sweep up as you explore.

You will need to be a level 50 carpenter to be able to craft this minion the resources needed are 1 Glazenut, 1 Broombush, 1 Rosewood Branch and 1 Ancient Lumber none of these can be purchased but can be earned by doing the subquest “The Magic Word” which is found in Matoya’s Cave by talking with Saro Roggo.

The Giant Beaver minion has a few steps to unlocking one of the steps is to take on the quest “ The Dancing Plague (Extreme)” which is a level 80 trial upon beating the trial players will get rewarded with a Dancing Wing item.

These are very commonly used for the creation of the Fae weapons but it has another sneaky feature if players also finish two extra quests “When beavers cry” and “And then there was none” you will be able to use the Dancing Wing item to unlock The Giant Beaver minion.

Some other minions do require a bit of grinding to obtain but are well worth it for unlocking them as a feat to showcase to friends and free company members, the Much-coveted Mora is one of the rarest to unlock as it is tied to the “On a Boat IV” achievement to earn this players must earn 1,000,000 points while Ocean Fishing so it is a big task but a very rare reward is given.

The Nagxian Cat minion can be earned by spending 800 sacks of nuts which are obtained by doing the Nutsy Clan Hunts and going after elite targets for big rewards, you can trade this with the vendor J’lakshai in Old Sharlayan.

A Corgi can be earned from the Faux Commander in Idyllshire at the cost of 400 Faux leafs so make sure you have finished the main story in the Shadowbringers expansion to start being able to earn Faux Leafs as the Corgi is an adorable minion to have follow you.

I hope this short list of mounts and minions to try to unlock helps good luck out and have fun Warriors of Light.
