DreamHack Melbourne 2023 begins on Friday April 28, bringing the world famous gaming lifestyle festival to Australian shores for the second time. This year is already shaping up to be bigger than 2022, with even more local and international fans securing tickets to visit Melbourne Parks for a weekend of esports, gaming, live music, and more.
Esports fans can enjoy ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne, pitting international and local CS:GO teams against one another live in Margaret Court Arena. With a $140,000+ AUD prize pool on the line, expect to see three days of intense action. The League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) Split 1 Grand Final, featuring Team Bliss vs The Chiefs, will take place on Saturday 29 April, but that’s not all; North American “TSM Challengers” will be coming down to face off against a lineup of five Oceanic All-Stars.
The pros aren’t the only ones competing though, as tickets to the Bring-Your-Own Computer (BYOC) LAN are now 100% sold out. Hundreds of gamers are ready for a weekend in Rod Laver Arena to compete for over $40,000 in prizes across Valorant, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Rocket League, CS:GO, and more. Fighting game fans can also get in on the prize money-winning action all day every day in the Centrepiece expo with $5k up for grabs across the weekend.
This year marks the first-ever Artists Alley at DreamHack Melbourne. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of gaming art and support over 40 local artists participating. Those feeling inspired can learn and level up their own skills through a variety of panels including the ‘CosHack 101: Level Up Panel’, or compete for a share of $16,000 in the Cosplay Competition: Endgame Quest, celebrating the hard work and creativity local fans.
The festival continues into the night, with the Trash Taste Podcast hosting a live podcast session on Friday, April 28. The iconic Rod Laver Arena will be transformed into an electrifying dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights, with live performances from Mashd N Kutcher, Godlands, Luke Million, and more of the most talented and creative artists in the local electronic music scene.
