Amongst the plethora of exciting announcement made at Gamescom overnight, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III showed off the heart-stopping Operation 627 – the first mission of the Modern Warfare III campaign. David Swenson and Shelby Carleton of Sledgehammer Games also took to the stage to discuss many of the innovations coming to Modern Warfare III when it launches on 10 November 2023.

So, what’s next? Well, Call of Duty: Next returns on 5 October 2023 PT, and can be watched live on the Official Call of Duty Twitch or YouTube channel. With the help of Call of Duty developers and community representatives, Call of Duty: Next is the premier showcase for Modern Warfare III Multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone.
MULTIPLAYER BETA
Call of Duty: Next is also the prelude to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Multiplayer Open Beta – featuring a variety of maps including some of the modernised Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). The beta will be split into two weekends:
- Weekend One – PlayStation Exclusive
Available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the first Beta weekend is scheduled to begin on Saturday, 7 October AEDT and end on Tuesday, 10 October AEDT. - Weekend Two – Crossplay
The second Beta weekend is for all platforms, and is scheduled to begin on Friday, 13 October AEDT and end on Monday, 16 October AEDT
