Competitive gamers Basil & Jace have taken out first place in the US $100,000 AO Summer Smash Fortnite Invitational after an action-packed six-game tournament over the weekend.

In a nail-biting finish that came down to the final round, they received $16,000 for their efforts, ahead of Spiker and Raiku in second place and Pumpkin and Xalkerr in third place.

The prize pool will be evenly split between the winners and a charity of their choice.

The champions Basil & Jace donated the charity portion of their prize pool to the Cancer Council Australia & World Vision Australia.

A powerful line-up of duos teams participated in the online event including Australian gamers Fresh, PWR Looter & PWR Sorif, PWR Jynx & PWR worthy and Muselk.
