Today ESL Australia, local division of the world’s largest esports company, celebrated a successful online finals series of Australia & New Zealand’s premier esports league, the ESL ANZ Championship (“ANZ Champs”).
Over April 4 & 5, Australia & New Zealand’s top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) players competed online, to a peak concurrent viewership of over 23,000 live viewers, watching from all over the world.
The finals series saw Avant Gaming take the win over Melbourne-based ORDER in an intense match, which saw Avant initially down 0-1 before clawing back a 3-1 win.
The series set a new record for viewership for a regional CS:GO competition in ANZ, with more than 60,000 unique viewers from across Australia and New Zealand tuning in, and watching more than 100,000 hours of streamed content across the weekend.
The ESL ANZ Champs continues this week, with Warcraft 3:Reforged being broadcast this Wednesday from 5pm AEST on twitch.tv/esl_australia.
