Epic Games today announced that Australian content creator Kathleen “Loserfruit” Belsten is the first Australian to join its Fortnite Icon series, receiving her own in-game cosmetic set.
The Loserfruit Bundle which includes the ‘Loserfruit’ outfit, ‘Buddy Bag’ Back Bling, ‘Fruit Punchers’ Pickaxe, and ‘Bounce Berry’ Emote is now available for fans to purchase and use in Fortnite.
“I’m so grateful to be one of the first creators in the world to get this opportunity,” said Loserfruit. “Fortnite has changed my life, so being added to the game is a huge honour. This is such a big career highlight for me and I have no idea how I’m ever going to top it.”
Through the Fortnite Icon Series, Epic Games collaborated with Loserfruit to ensure her personality and artistic vision influenced the design of the cosmetic items.
“I love the attention to detail Epic put into the outfit – from the fruits, colours and even scanning my face and body so the skin is modeled around me,” said Belsten. “They even added mini versions of my infamous stream-snipers Monggy and ilee. I can’t wait to fight against myself in-game!”
Loserfruit joins popular Fortnite creators Ninja, TheGrefg and Patriota in the Icon Series, as well as popular international musician Travis Scott, and Japanese Pop Star Elly.
Loserfruit has been creating gaming content since 2013, and regularly streams and uploads Fortnite related content to her 3.32 million followers across Twitch and YouTube. She has represented the Australian Fortnite community at Fortnite Pro-Am events such as the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, and 2020 AO Summer Smash.
Players can purchase the Loserfruit Bundle in the Fortnite Item Shop until Thursday 25 June, 2020.
