Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse (Hardware) – Review

RazerANZ hooked MKAU Gaming up with the new Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse, one of their latest peripherals since the company was founded in 2005. I have always been a big fan of Razer’s sleek black designs, with most of them rocking some sort of RGB, and you can’t look past the beautiful green Razer logo. It’s hard to go wrong with Razer, and it’s about time to retire my old Razer Mamba Elite. We’ll see how the new Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse compares, and who knows, my Razer Mamba Elite might stay in retirement.

I’ll forever love it when companies use simple and eye-catching packaging, and Razer hits the nail right on the head with this; a matte black front and back, a bright neon green on the sides, and a simple photo of the product. Under this, holographic text proudly reads Razer DeathAdder V3 Hyperspeed.

The first thing you want to do is open the box to see what’s inside, and when you do, the first little section holds a message from Razer. If you’ve never had one before, it’s a decent read. Diving a little further, the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse sits proud, its cords placed neatly around it. You’ll also find the usual paperwork; warranty information, quick start guides, and so on.

Removing it from the packaging, the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse is incredibly light with a beautiful matte black finish, three white PTFE slide pads, and a shiny black Razer logo that stands out on the palm rest. The cables that come with the mouse feel high quality, and being braided, you can expect them to last longer under the harsh conditions gamers will put them through. The only thing that was missing was the fancy RGB.

The overall feel of the mouse was great. It didn’t creak, and it felt super solid for its weight and size. As someone with bigger hands, it was a little on the smaller side for me, but it wasn’t uncomfortable to use and the two thumb buttons on the left-hand side of the mouse are really convenient when I’m playing on something like Diablo; I can configure them to activate additional abilities.

Compared to the previous Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro, the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse has some significant upgrades, and the first thing I noticed was how light this mouse is. It comes in at 55 grams compared to the 98.3 grams in my Razer Mamba Elite. Third-generation optical switches feel incredible and offer a 0.2 ms response time, with near-instant actuation and no debounce.

One of the best features I looked into was the Razer HyperPolling, upgrading the mouse to 8000hz wireless capability, and compared to others on the market, offers an amazing polling rate. The Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse also uses a Focus X 26K Optical Sensor, allowing for up to 26,000 DPI, 500IPS, and 40G max acceleration, making those sticky situations a little easier to get out of. It felt amazing compared to what I was running before.

I felt like I had more control while gaming and clicks were a lot more responsive, but the main thing that worries me with wireless mice is making sure they are charged. With up to 100 hours of battery life, I was sweet. I didn’t have to worry about the mouse dying mid-game and getting me killed.

Connecting the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse to your PC is incredibly simple – just plug the wireless receiver into a USB port and turn it on, or use the supplied charging cable to make full use of the HyperSpeed capabilities. The wireless receiver can also support multiple devices, such as a compatible wireless keyboard, saving you from using an extra USB port.

It’s really convenient for streamers who need all the USB ports they can get. A single multifunction button on the bottom of the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse turns the mouse on and off and connects it, but if you press the button quickly, you can adjust the DPI on the fly.

While you can use it as a plug-and-play device, if you want extra control over the finer settings, Razer Synapse lets you fine-tune your settings for that perfect setup. While I didn’t feel the need to change anything, Razer Synapse is a super-friendly user interface, and it’s as simple as clicking on the piece of hardware you want to adjust, the click and change the settings. Another great feature the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse comes with is Smart Tracking.

This feature lets you calibrate to different surfaces, allowing you to keep the lift-off distance consistent and keep the landing point down to the lowest millimetre. This is tied with Dynamic Sensitivity, a must-have feature for anyone into shooters. It works by adjusting the DPI automatically based on your movements, particularly useful in games like Counter-Strike or Call of Duty.

Both of these can be set up with Razer Synapse; playing around with the curves will record how you move, and AI will do the rest – You can set it to jump from 800 DPI to 1200 DPI automatically if you want to. Setting it up to suit your movements, the combination of Smart Tracking and Dynamic Sensitivity can turn what might take two swipes into a single quick movement, and you’ll be performing near-instant 180-degree turns to land some cheeky headshots.

I’ve been using Razer products for a long time now and the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse has earned my love. Lightweight with amazing battery life, the freedom of wireless connectivity, responsive Gen-3 Optical Mouse Switches, and incredible sensitivity, I’m sad to say that my Razer Mamba Elite will be staying in retirement. The Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse ticks all the boxes.
