Mr Beast Toys – Review

It is undeniable the grip that influencers have on pop culture and young society as a whole. It is scary, but a stark reality. One thing we can hope for though is that they use that ‘influence’ for a positive effect. In saying that, despite recent controversies, Mr Beast has spearheaded many contributions that you could consider leading a favourable direction amongst the youth.

This leads me to Mr Beast’s new toy range, MrBeast Lab, a smart collaboration with established toy brands Beast Lab and Goo Jit Zu. MKAU was able to get its hands on three of his leading products;

  • MrBeast Lab Mutators
  • MrBeast Lab Swarms Mega Lab 12 Pack
  • MrBeast Lab Stretchy Hero Squishy Hypercharged Panther

So in saying that, I called my nephews over aged 6 and 8 in to see how they felt;

‘MrBeast Lab Mutators’ is the most interesting but not necessarily the best. It does require twisting dials, mixing different liquids, and pulling apart pieces, so I recommend parental supervision and … towels. The instructions are pretty clear, pour a liquid into the chamber, twist the dial, and watch as the ‘chemicals’ clear to reveal your panther.

My nephew and I got the liquid everywhere and it did leak a little out the bottom (maybe due to damage in postage) but he was amazed as he saw an Iconic Panther in bright blue and pink appear in the clear window as the blue liquid dispersed. A cool little gimmicky experiment and the action figure inside was interesting and well-made. The kids’s score and review: “Messy but cool”, 7/10.

‘MrBeast Lab Swarms Mega Lab 12 pack’ comes with 8 assorted mini squishy Mr Beast-inspired characters called Micro Beasts. Included are 2 test tubes containing 2 mystery characters that also require a little experimenting in the kitchen lab. This time around you pour a powder into the test tube with some water to froth your characters to reveal themselves, or … you can take them out the powder like we did accidentally not realising you need to experiment with them.

They could at least change colour or something in the water because like I said we just took them out of the packet of powder before reading the instructions. The little rubber Micro Beasts are cool in design in acid colours that pop and each 12-pack includes a special edition panther; Mr Beast’s logo. The kids’s opinion: ‘Boring, they don’t do anything’, 6/10.

My personal favourite of the 3 toys is the most simplistic. The ‘MrBeast Lab Stretchy Hero Squishy Hypercharged Panther’, is just a soft rubbery shell in the shape of his iconic panther filled with a clear jelly-like goo. Much like the popular ‘Goo Jit Zu’ brand my nephews love so much, the toys just simply stretch up to 3 times their size and can be smooshed into all kinds of positions and shapes.

Perhaps it was my favourite because it doesn’t require mucking around in the most surface-levelled ways possible and kept the boys occupied the longest. It was very calming and therapeutic to play with an almost ASMR-like quality and decently sized at 11cm tall. Final verdict by the kids: ‘It’s soft, squishy, and can be thrown around. Can I keep it?’ 10/10.

My review; Mr Beast is smart and has released these toys in a range of variants so for a collector they will be coming back for more to get each type, for example the Stretchy Heroes come in three types: iconic, legendary, and hypercharged, each with different fillings. This is a theme across most of his toys; buy more to collect them all, maximum profits. Smart business. They are also well-made products of his collaboration with established brands, also smart business.

I don’t think the ‘Lab’ ploy is needed as the toys are decent as a stand-alone, the fluff of adding liquids and powders is just mucky, contrived, and time-wasting but a decent product lies underneath. You can’t deny Mr Beast has a business expansion many influencers would be jealous of.
