‘Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021’, a simulator game developed by Play2Chill S.A, produced by PlayWay S.A and Play2Chill S.A. In this game, you are tasked with running a mechanic shop that specializes in motorcycles. You are given jobs to complete replacing broken parts or enhancing the performance of a bike. Earn money and build a motorcycle mechanic empire or have fun in the sandbox mode with unlimited resources to buy, repair, and enhance your dream bikes.
The controls take a little bit to get used to but are straightforward once you get used to them, and the tutorial shows you the ropes well. The camera controls were the hardest part to get used to, using the right joystick to move the camera while also having to press the X button makes it feel a little clunky.
I like how involved the game is, having to take apart different areas of the bike to reach certain parts that must be replaced. After a while it does get tedious however, I can’t speak for those who are really into motorcycles, they might enjoy it more.
While it seems that the detail of the motorcycles is extensive, just how accurate it is, I couldn’t tell you I have heard that it isn’t very accurate so if you are a motorcycle enthusiast it could potentially rub you the wrong way depending on inaccuracies. You do get to test ride the bikes, for me though this was the most underwhelming part, it just wasn’t a highlight the graphics are not that great, and the bike movement and control were non-existent.
Speaking of the look, I commend the detail put into the motorcycles themselves, but that’s about as good as it gets. I didn’t expect anything flashy, but it seems all the effort went into the bikes and garage, which is the focal point, I guess. I stopped taking the bikes for test drives as it was my least favourite part. It was hard to enjoy, like looking at something from the early 2000s but not enough was done to make it exciting or fun so that the graphics quality didn’t matter.
Test driving was just something I didn’t like the look of and brought no value or excitement for me. Just a little more detail, sharpen up the controls and it might not be too bad, for me right now it was an eyesore. The menus were difficult to navigate and are presented messily making it hard to navigate.
Something else that could use a little tweaking was the music, it is there but it is so overpowering, and the worst part is I couldn’t even find a way to turn it down or off. The engines don’t sound anything like any bikes I have heard of before, I don’t know where they got their sound reference from, but they didn’t hit the mark. The sounds of the garage using tools, and such were drowned out by the over-the-top rock being played.
This game, while initially fun, got old quickly, I would much rather work on a real bike or car than this by the end it felt as though I wasted my own time for no real accomplishment. Some people will enjoy this game, they might even find it soothing or a good escape from the troubles of life game. For me, however, it felt more like a time suck, I could have done so many other more productive things.
They are onto something, and I see great potential, but right now it’s not there, update the graphics, tweak the menus for easier use, fix the bike controls, and make sure you have a professional look over the steps to make it more realistic.
