Congratulations Mr or Mrs President, you won the great election to lead the United States of America, and you decide your future and the future of your great country. I Am Your President is a strategy game developed by President Studio and published by President Studio and PlayWay. If you want to feel the ultimate power then maybe this title is designed for you but let me explain why.
The entire time you are playing the title, each choice will change the statistics on who follows you, who loves you, and who wants to kill you, so you need to make sure of the choices you make.
You have people coming in and out all day to answer questions or give you ideas, whilst also needing to check social media and if you are so inclined, you can start wars with other countries. I found the game gets a little repetitive super quickly, and not to mention sitting there talking to people every minute got old super quick.
I feel like this title would play so much nicer on the PC. I found moving the cursor around with the right joystick to be super delayed and super slow, which for someone like me who likes doing everything a hundred miles an hour was annoying.
You don’t need to know too much about the controls in this title due to how basic they are made. You just need to use the joystick and press “A” more than anything. It’s not a title that needs too much done with the controls, which compared to some of the titles I get to play is a nice change of pace.
I’m not even sure what to say about the graphics in this game. The Oval Office looked great, the character models were wobbling cardboard-looking cutouts, and the user interface looked clean but generic at best.
Being a political strategy game you don’t need too much with the graphics. It would have been lovely to see some actual character models walking in and maybe the ability to move around the Oval Office, but you are stuck staring at Abraham Lincoln and George Washington the entire time.
If you like hearing some soft elevator music and lots of clicking from typing then you are in for a treat with the audio section of this title. There is no voice dialogue and minimal sounds, so it’s one you can put Spotify on and jam out to some music whilst making big decisions for your country.
If you are into making big decisions on a political level then this game has been created just for you. It was not my cup of tea but on the same note, I couldn’t care less about politics as much as it’s fun to make stupid decisions and impede a war.
The Good
- Great selection of questions/ideas
- Original idea for a game
- The developers have given me too much power
The Bad
- Minimal audio
- Cardboard cutout character models
- Politics. Vomits
