Bloodhound (Xbox Series X) – Review

Welcome back to a new platform release for Bloodhound for the Xbox Series X, developed and published by Kruger & Flint Productions. Now, let’s hunt down the hellspawns and make them squeal.

This title has been released on many platforms, including PC and PlayStation, with an in-depth review, which you can find below:

Initially, the controls were simple yet complex, with movement sensitivity through the roof on the Xbox.

I had to move to the lowest setting to feel stable and playable. After a bit of use, the controls feel more usable. Both console versions have the same control layout, which is nice.

From what is shown, there are no differences in gameplay, graphics, and sound and ran very smoothly. The graphics are simple and comparable to the classic Doom game, which has that retro style and detailed animations. Even sound has an ominous tone with squishy sounds followed by groans, and then once you start battling, a fantastic heavy metal soundtrack comes out and blasts away as you blast enemies.

Bloodhound is such a fun game. Although it’s short, with roughly 2 to 3 hours of gameplay, they did a great job of jamming it full of excitement, which was gruesome fun. It’s an excellent game for those retro fans.

The Good

  • Enjoyable gameplay
  • Easy-to-learn controls
  • Weapon variety
  • Amazing soundtrack
  • Great sound and animation style

The Bad

  • Control sensitivity
  • Very short campaign
