Alienware Presents: The Best Online Party Games To Keep Your Summer Party Vibes Alive

Autumn is just around the corner, but just because we’re no longer at the backyard barbecue or the beach, it doesn’t mean that you can’t still catch-up with your crew. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt over the past few years, it’s that you don’t have to be in the same room to have fun together!

Whether it’s being the first to make it through in Fall Guys or battling head-to-head in Overcooked, jumping online to party and play with friends and family has become the norm. So, as we head into cooler months, here’s our rundown of the best online party games to get into, and because no soiree is complete without a snack, we’ve included some food pairings that will be perfect to munch on while gaming.

Fall Guys

Fall Guys is a battle royale game which is free to play, and within each game, up to 60 players control creatures that look eerily like jellybeans competing against each other in a series of mini-games, such as obstacle courses or tag – randomly selected, of course.

Fall Guys regularly hosts new seasons every 2 to 6 months, introducing a new theme and further content every season. This allows for a variety when playing, so every game will be different! When playing Fall Guy, you may find yourself craving a jellybean or two – we don’t recommend trying to eat the ones on your screen though!

Overcooked

Overcooked is a hectic couch co-op cooking game for 1-4 players. Running a restaurant as a team, you and your fellow chefs must prepare, cook, and serve a variety of tasty orders before the yapping customers storm out in a mood. Players control a number of chefs in kitchens filled with various hurdles and dangers, swiftly preparing meals to specific orders and working together to complete it in time.

Overcooked also has a single player mode where the player can control two chefs, switching between them at any time, meaning that even by yourself you can have loads of fun! With the variety of food, you are serving to your customers while playing Overcooked, you’re bound to feel a little peckish – for this game we have to go with the tried-and-true, classic gaming snack – French fries, obviously! Now they’re no potato chips, but barely anything beats the taste of fries topped with a little chicken salt.

Fortnite

Perhaps the most well-known game on this list is Fortnite. Popularised in 2017 with the viral “Fortnite Dances”, the most popular game mode requires players to participate in a battle-royale game for up to 100 players, allowing one to play alone, in a duo, or in a squad (usually consisting of three or four players). When players land, they must hunt for weapons, objects, supplies, and even vehicles while trying to stay alive and to damage and get rid of other players.

The game pushes remaining players into tighter spaces and incites player encounters. The last player, duo, or squad remaining is the winner. There are also two other modes: Fortnite: Save the World is a player-versus-environment collaborative game, with four players working together towards a shared goal on several missions. Fortnite Creative is a sandbox game mode, in which players are given complete freedom to produce any item from the Battle Royale game mode on a personal island. We definitely think Fortnite is worth the hype! When playing Fortnite, you may come across food which has healing properties, such as pizza, apples, or mushrooms. Now we don’t advise putting apples on a pizza, but snacking on a margherita pizza while gaming doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

Whether you’re playing Overcooked by yourself, Fortnite with your friends, or Fall Guys with your closest frenemies, just know that it will make your winter all the more fun… or competitive.
