Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K Gaming Mouse (Hardware) – Review

Razer Con has concluded for 2024 and there were some amazing products announced. Among those amazing products was the all-new Wireless Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse, and RazerANZ sent MKAU Gaming a review unit. I’m impressed and like their slogan says “For Gamers, By Gamers” so let’s see how it compares to the Razer DeathAdder V3 mouse I have been using for a couple of months.

I’m starting to sound like a broken record about how much I love the Razer packaging. The matte black finish on the boxes with the Razer green wrapped around the outsides, and the holographic name of the product is simplistic in its advertising. The magic is when you open the box and are greeted with the beautiful Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K. This great-looking matte black mouse with the nice etched Razer logo is where your palm would go. Once you have removed the mouse you have a nice little insert you need to pull out where there is a little black cardboard box that has a nice thick braided USB-A to USB-C cable, and a black information manual with white writing which is nice and easy on the eyes. If you glance to the top of the box you will also see a HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle and the USB Dongle Adapter.

The first function in the mouse I’m going to mention is purely because it’s my favourite function and that is the RGB lighting which looks stunning. You switch the mouse on and get the scroll wheel lighting up the etched Razer logo and then the bottom around the edges lights up, so your mouse pad has never looked nicer with the underglow. There are 13 individual programmable LEDs so if you want a super unique-looking mouse you can, or if you are like me run one of the preset wave RBG modes which look so clean.

The biggest feature Razer is promoting with this mouse is the Razer Hyperscroll Tilt Wheel which is a 4-way configurable scroll wheel with tactile cycling, free-spin, or smooth, you also can switch between them all with the smart-reel mode which I played around with a fair bit, but takes a little bit to get used to it. You can also use virtual acceleration meaning the faster you scroll, the faster you go, which makes sense. The 35K in the name was the last thing to blow me away, the Razer Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2 is the fastest optical sensor to date which has some awesome features and compared to the competition blows them out of the park.

The stats speak for themselves on their website with the IPS (Inches Per Second) which has a movement speed of 750 compared to the competition’s 400. The G’s register is 70 compared to 40 from competition mouses and other features like the matching DPI are unheard of in other mouses down to motion sync. Razer continues to test how far they can push their products, and the proof is in the pudding of how well they succeed. Razer has teamed up with Pixart an industry leader in sensor solutions, they have created the most precise sensor to date by adding dynamic sensitivity which is noticeable in the product.

The mouse weighs only 112 grams which is a perfectly weighted mouse in my books and it felt great to use and do those filthy flick shots. You can get up to 210 hours using the Bluetooth function on this mouse or if you are using the Hyperspeed Wireless you can score up to 140 hours.

Razer’s products are useable straight out of the box, and the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is no exception. If you want to use their products to their full potential, I recommend downloading Razer Synapse.

This has all the functions packed into a neat little program allowing you to play around with things like the lighting and the mouse wheel between tactical, or free-spin. You can also set up the mouse to enable the free spin when needed, which is a great feature.

You can also play around with the mouse DPI which unlike other products can be adjusted in singular increments compared to 50x increments which adds another level of making that mouse your own and to what you feel comfortable using, it is a handy feature to have depending on what you are doing and you can play around with it on the fly. The software is super user-friendly and has pictures and ease-of-access slide buttons, so it’s just a matter of click and change, which is simplistic and quick. Like I mentioned before you don’t need to use this software but it’s free so it can’t hurt and unlocks the full potential of the mouse.

Suppose you are a little like me and sick of having cords all over your desk and want simplistic and beautiful. In that case, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K pairs up nicely with Razer’s new Razer Mouse Dock Pro which allows you to add a little wireless charging puck to the bottom of your mouse. It is as simple as putting the mouse on it whilst not being used and keeping the charge in your mouse for uninterrupted gaming or work. I might need to look into investing in one of these so I can ditch all the cables.

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is the perfect addition to my collection and is taking over my previous Razer mouse between its looks, ergonomics, and how user-friendly the mouse is to use, it’s a great little package. Razer has fine-tuned the detail into this mouse and it’s been noticed, my desk has never looked so good. This mouse is made by gamers, for gamers.

The Good

  • Great design
  • Simplistic software
  • RGB lights = winning
  • Great battery life
  • HypedSpeed Wireless is a great feature
  • The tactical scroll wheel is great for different things
