“Office Fight”, the title has sparked my interest already! Fenix Studios has created what in their words is a “Hilarious physics-based office destruction game”.
A lighthearted game made by a small group of devs who were made redundant from their own real-world company, so what better way to showcase your skills and take out all of that anger than to create a game designed to inflict as much damage in the office to ensure the virtual company Mega Corp has to pick up the bill for the repairs.
Playing as a friendly ghost, you must try to inflict as much damage as possible in each office scene as you work your way to the top floor of the Mega Corp building. You are presented with a new office scene for each level, with challenges and office workers to enrage.
Each office has a different selection of props, such as the haunted filing cabinets, office fans that push objects in different directions, pot plants, bookshelves, the list goes on and on – creating a pseudo-type of Angry Birds game in an office environment.
Your goal, as the friendly ghost that can’t be seen, is to throw objects around the office so they damage other objects causing chain reactions and pitting the workers against each other. Fenix Studios has created a neat physics system that ensures you think about your next move and its implications.
Once objects start to break or hit the office workers, you will see a combination meter above the scene flashing levels helping you to reach the top score to complete the scene and move on to the next room once only one officer worker is left standing.
Easily making my way through the initial levels with ease, I soon found myself facing my first boss battle against “Karen the Righteous.” After a quick giggle at the name, I dove into my first boss fight, only to discover that the game had shifted from point of view to a third-person perspective as the friendly ghost, an unexpected change from the earlier gameplay.
As I continued to progress, the levels ramped up in difficulty, demanding more strategy and precision to maximize the chaos in each office setting. The game strikes a perfect balance between light-hearted fun and careful planning, making every destructive opportunity all the more satisfying.
The graphics are spot-on, perfectly capturing the game’s playful spirit, with top-notch animations and layouts that keep changing as you progress and keep you engaged. Each piece of furniture, every quirky office worker, comic-style cutscenes and different office spaces all help contribute to the game’s charm. The music and audio are equally well-crafted, blending with the gameplay to enhance the overall enjoyment. Even the sound details during the destruction of the office and background music suit the game’s tone, making it hard to find any faults in this review.
Overall as I stated above, I really cannot fault the game, it is a lot of fun and with the offices changing in every scene, and first and third-party views, you can’t help but continue to go back and try to get that perfect score. The developers have stated they are looking at releasing the title for Console and ISO, so you know they are going to keep producing content and supporting the game.
If you are looking to let off some steam and have a laugh along the way, Office Fight is a must-play game from a small studio that has used its setback of being made redundant and turned its experience and frustrations into a top-notch gaming experience.
