Published by Ocean Media and developed by Tiny Little Lion, Just Find It 3: Collector’s Edition is the third entry in the Just Find It series and one of the studio’s library of themed puzzle games. The original Just Find It 3 was released to Steam in 2023, but the Collector’s Edition is now available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Just Find It 3: Collector’s Edition is a collection of puzzle games based on various themes. As the title implies, there is so much stuff to see and sort through. The Collector’s Edition includes 25 extra bonus levels that can be played in any order, with seven different game types, from spotting the difference, searching for details, memory, montage, swapping tiles, making matches and solving engaging puzzles.
The games are very straightforward and simple to play with varying levels of difficulty, and the controls are simple point-and-click, which is really all it needs. The game is easiest to play on a PC using a mouse, but the Switch and PS5 versions can control the cursor using either of the two thumbsticks and a single button to select the objects.
Controlling the cursor on the console versions can be a little finicky, especially when you have to be really precise with positioning it on smaller objects, but thankfully, there’s an option to adjust the cursor’s sensitivity. The Switch version has touchscreen capabilities, which is a nice option that helps players to be more precise with selecting objects big and small, but the drawback with that feature is that the pictures are then too small to see in handheld mode on the Switch’s small screen. This, of course, will vary between different people and how good their eyesight is.
Overall, the game is fun and enjoyable, offering a relaxing way to play while keeping the mind sharp. Some of the games can be a little overwhelming, mainly having you sort through a mess of pictures that are either too random or too similar with very subtle differences. If players are struggling to solve the puzzles, they can get help by clicking on the question mark.
This points out the next part that can be used to help uncover the solution, and you can use it again after a cooldown period. In certain games, players can also move the cursor across the screen while pressing the button until it selects the objects, but of course, the real fun is playing the game as intended. There are also plenty of collectibles to find.
The style and presentation have a very relaxing and calming atmosphere, perfectly fitting for a simple point-and-click puzzle game. Objects and other environmental details use high-resolution photos that look fantastic on any screen big or small. The background music also has a relaxing feel, complimenting everything on the screen, but it can get repetitive the longer you do a puzzle.
For AUD 15, the variety of puzzles Just Find It 3: Collector’s Edition provides is more than enough to keep you busy. It’s best played on PC with a mouse, but still just as enjoyable on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Despite its minor drawbacks, Just Find It 3: Collector’s Edition still helps keep the mind sharp, and it’s a great way to relax and unwind.
