Project Divine: Control Mousepad (Hardware) – Review

Once, the humble mouse pad used to be the absolute must-have accessory for using your PC. For those who remember using the humble trackball mouse, the mouse pad added the much-needed friction necessary to move your pointer around.

Now, this once humble must-have is often one of the most overlooked accessories because you don’t really need one with an optical mouse. However, there are those of us out there who need to perform at our very best and get the most out of our accessories. Thanks to True Apparel, I’ve been lucky enough to get hands-on with their newest addition, ‘Project Divine: Control Mousepad’, so let’s take that stairway to heaven and see just how divine it truly is.

Measuring in at a good-sized 490x420x3mm, this pad provides you plenty of space to maneuver without the need to constantly readjust. It is built on a unique, hand-crafted poron base that will keep you in control during those intense moments. Black in colour with a white Divine logo emblazoned on the lower right corner, it just screams function over form. Coming in at a respectable $69.99 you’ll soon see that this has been designed for maximum precision and durability.

I had grown so accustomed to my mousepads being incredibly smooth, never in a million years would I have thought that having a slightly rougher texture would make all the difference. You see the rougher texture on the poron base adds an incredible friction point to the pad, this allowed me to be way more precise with my movement and aiming. The underside felt almost like a suction cup and gave me a sense of security, knowing that my pad wouldn’t slip across the desk.

When I’m really in the zone I often tend to lean forward and get my elbows out, taking out a drink or knocking something over. So in the interest of science, I spilled a little of my freshly made JUICD onto the mousepad. Cleanup was as easy as taking a cloth to wipe it down, made even better by not leaving behind any sticky residue.

I haven’t been this accurate on Mouse and Keys in such a long time that it felt almost Godly with the Project Divine: Control Mousepad. Plenty of space to swing around and pop that head clean off with plenty of speed and precision. With this heavenly accessory, I’m very likely to put down my controller on the PC and rejoin the masters of the universe. If you’re in the market for a new mousepad look no further, you won’t regret it. Furthermore, you can save yourself 5% OFF by using code “MKAU” at the checkout.
