Australian YouTuber Lazarbeam Brings Aussie Flair To Fortnite Icon Series

Fortnite today announced Lannan ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott, as the latest Australian to join the Fortnite Icon Series. As part of the Icon Series, Lazarbeam will receive an in-game wearable Fortnite Outfit created in his likeness, heavily inspired by the Australian tradie and the meat pie. He revealed his collaboration with Epic Games via a live stream on his YouTube channel this morning.

By equipping the ‘Lazarbeam Outfit’ in Fortnite, players will be able to change their in-game character to look like Lazarbeam wearing tradie gear including a hi-vis shirt, tool belt and sledge hammer. Lazarbeam’s outfit is inspired by his work as a tradie before he became a full-time content creator, with a combined YouTube and social media following of over 28 million.

“I’m excited to share a slice of Australian culture with the global Fortnite community,” said Lazarbeam. “It’s surreal seeing yourself depicted in a video game like Fortnite, so I was eager to add some Australian inspiration from my tradie roots when designing the Outfit and Bundle. And who doesn’t love a meat pie?”

Players have a chance to be one of the first in the world to receive the Lazarbeam Outfit by competing in Lazar & Fresh’s Super Knockback tournament in Fortnite on March 3.

Fortnite players can purchase the ‘Lazarbeam Bundle’, a collection of four in-game wearable items inspired by the popular Aussie creator. The Lazarbeam Bundle includes the ‘Lazarbeam’ Outfit, ‘Baby Gingy’ Back Bling, ‘Ol’ Mate Sledgy’ Pickaxe and ‘Lunch Break’ Emote, which allows players to chomp down on a classic meat pie in-game. The ‘Lazarbeam Bundle’ will be available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Store from March 5, 11AM AEDT.

The Icon Series celebrates creators that have contributed to building Fortnite’s global community, which currently has more than 350 million accounts and is one of the most popular games in the world. Lazarbeam is the third Australian to join the Fortnite Icon Series, which includes fellow Australian gaming content creators Loserfruit and Lachlan, and international superstars such as Ninja. He is one of the most popular Australian content creators on YouTube, with a thriving community of 18.1 million global subscribers. His audience enjoys his humorous content which celebrates meme culture and preaches fun experiences and inclusion.
