Farming Simulator 19 Review

For 10 years now Giants Software have been stirring up the dust in the world of simulation games by creating the weird and yet somehow wonderful Farming Simulator. In 2008 they produced the first of their many Farming Simulators and 10 years later Giants Software have supplied their fans with a masterpiece.

Farming Simulator 19 is a big step forward from last year’s game and when you have been playing the series since 2008 you can really appreciate all the new features. This year Giants Software have added the famous John Deere and even the ability to breed horses. With a big upgrade to the graphics and the continuation of the mods, it is a title that hardcore gamers, casuals and new players can just relax and enjoy.

With the game only just being released, the selection of maps is quite small but there is a mod for a new map and as always some different farming equipment. If you’ve played Farming Simulator 17 you would have more than likely come across one of the most spectacular mods, the money mod. So far this mod has not been released for this years addition but we will more than likely see it in the near future.

The controls are almost identical to Farming Simulator 17 and this can cause a bit of a problem when you are trying to do logging to earn money. It’s the most awkward control set up I’ve ever come accross for trying to control a vehicle and I feel like Giants Software could of made big improvements to these controls. Get tired of the same boring vehicles? In Farming Simulator 19 they have an immense amount to choose from and that could be one of the biggest selling points of the game with over 300 vehicles to choose from, not including the mods that are still to be released or created.

When it comes to this game there is a down side and a plus side to how much time has to be spent. If you have a lot of time to spend on the game then it can be enjoyed the way it should be, but if you are short on time then you really don’t get to feel the enjoyment and happiness when your farms are thriving and the money only goes up. That can easily be fixed by playing the multiplayer and making your friends tend to your crops while you tend to your real life.

Overall, Giants Software have done an almost perfect job with game, and with a few little changes it could honestly be a solid 5 star game. If you’ve not played any of the farming sims by Giants Software before then I would honestly suggest giving Farming Simulator 19 a try. For a game with such a vast quantity of content, not including the free mods, you don’t really have anything to lose. If you don’t enjoy farming then you can always just jump into your tractor and drive it off the cliffs and watch it roll multiple times (yes iIhave tried this and it works) If you’re not into the whole destroying stuff thing you can also ride your horses that you breed.
